Bake Out Outfits

I used to do a section called What to Wear. It was my favorite section. But I got lazy taking pics of myself - it's weird! However, for the most recent Bake Out shoots, I had to plan things out a bit...email around with Joy, etc and just to whet your appetite a tiny bit, I wanted to share an outfit... and reveal what we'll be baking up next!

Here I am wearing a Tsumori Chisato balloon mini plus H&M shoes. ... get stoked for BERRY PIE!

Delicious Shoes

No, it's not edible. But they'd be hot to go to dinner in.

Pedro Garcia. I'm a size 37/37.5, just in case anyone was wondering. xx

WTW- E!/Style Network

Yesterday I had a meeting with E!/Style Network... Now I don't like to get too detailed with worky thingies on le blog but I did want to share my outfit
I was going for put together but not coordinated; clean but not country club. It's 90 degrees here this week but I didn't want skimpy.
I went for my men's xxs Whyred sweater, a Stockholm purchase from summer collection, and balanced it out with my fab Old Navy shorts. Shoes were the famous gift from Taylor's mom, the Manolos (on which the talent exec gave a compliment) and the bag was my usual vintage (from MY lovely mother) red Dooney and Bourke. Hair was natural and, save my usual dual necklaces, I forgot to put on any jewelry sooo nothing to report there.

WTW - Martha Radio

Alright, so I am aware that when you do radio, no one actually sees you. But this morning, when I checked out Living Today online, the radio show on which I'll be speaking this afternoon (more to come on this later), I saw that the other guest on the show would be Jacques Pépin! Mon Dieu!  Pépin is nothing short of a legend.  So I decided I need to look angelic, just in case we pass each other in the hall.

I am wearing a Theory dress, purchased in 2006 for my book release party.  Greyish blue with a big bow in front, buttons all the way down.  Shoes are brown Stuart Weitzman and handbag envelope is vintage Gucci - purchased at Henri Bendell in 2000 - I was 16!

If you'd like to listen to me this afternoon (now that you've got a good image of what I'll be wearing), tune into Martha's Sirius channel around 2:30pm.  If Sirius is giving you trouble, don't fret, we'll have a recorded version available here later this week.

WTW: Stockholm

I learned my first Swedish word: REA!! Yes, I know- I am working at Appelfabriken-the quaint country café and garden in Stockholm's inner archipelego. Day to day tasks usually include weeding the garden, mowing lawn, trimming hedges, watering the greenhouse down and a whole mess of other odd jobs involving rakes, hoses, shears and keeping my nails short.

But post-midsummer here, everything in Stockholm goes on REA... SALE!! I had to check out my fav Swedish brands and hot damn I lucked out! What to wear Stockholm isn't directed at one specific restaurant (though I'll be checking out Lisa Pa Torget asap- I hear it's great), but really just an assembly of my purchases. Come on! I'm living in the boonies (the gorgeous, forest and water engulfed, heavenly boonies but still) so I gotta bust out sometime!

So here's my what to wear - a totally Swedish round up: starting from the top we have a Cheap Monday top with cool layering in the back and single pocket in front. Jeans are Acne brand on REA for a little less than $100! Shoes are a Weekday find- the design collective responsible for Cheap Monday. And last but not least is crowning jewel- the Whyred travel bag in all it's pixely glory. Yum!

Now all I need is Fifth Avenue Shoe Repair and I'll be invincible. Reason for another day off!

Ps- I realize photos are eyesore-poor quality but i'm blogging à la iPhone so that's what I gots :-)

WTW - Daddy's

Daddy's is the bar down the street from my apartment.  It's nothing too special and, if anything, verges on being a little too hipster for this edge of Williamsburg.  But I like them for the frozen margaritas and outdoor back patio.  What to wear?  Recently, I arrived wearing my grey Earnest Sewn jeans + Surface to Air graphic T.  There's my favorite black belt by Maria Cornejo hidden in there.  I slipped on my black strappy H&M (yup) shoes and enjoyed my frozen margarita in the sunshine.

WTW - Sea Salt

Naples, Florida is an elegant town, but there is something about that sea breeze coming off of the Gulf that keeps it from being pretentious.  On a recent visit to Sea Salt, I wore an outfit both whimsical and sophisticated.  I paired a Forever 21 flouncy black T-shirt and sky blue jeans with caramel Manolo Blahniks.  Because we get to drive everywhere (and thus leave things in the car! Ahhh luxury), all I needed was my little Gucci wallet to carry a camera, phone and lip gloss. Hair was loose and air-dried.  Jewelry was the usual hodge-podge of Suki-purchased drop eagle necklace + black pearl + recently converted from earrings gold and pink sapphire lotus petal charm.  Earrings came by way of the contemporary art museum gift shop in LA.  But truly, so long as you remember to have a pedicure before you arrive (I opted for Trombone this week), anything goes in Naples.

WTW - Vutera

What to wear to Vutera? It was raining when I went but the outfit matched the bill.  Casual but put together is the name of the game. Tailoring trumps flouncy.  Direct but light-hearted.  I wore, from top to bottom: Helmut Lang black cotton cardigan with wrap pockets, marc jacobs blouse, vintage Dooney&Bourke sadle bag, Earnest Sewn grey jeans, Hunter rain boots.diningdigs-vutera
