A few weeks ago I saw a brownie pan the sparked my interest. The pan, called The Edge Brownie Pan, made by The Baker’s Edge, is a maze-like pan with walls that create edges throughout the pan.
The silly looking design results in each brownie square turning into a coveted edge piece. The company website assures that you don’t need to change the cooking time for your recipes and that if you don’t like edges, then maybe, “you’ve had a bad experience with ‘edges’.” Maybe if you don’t like brownie edges, you will like edges on other recipes that work well with the pan, such as Lasagna in the Edge Pan, or Cheesecake Bars with Chocolate Crust. Both recipes are given on the site: www.bakersedge.com.
The stroke-of-genius pan is available on amazon.com and The Dish has already started brainstorming…baked mashed potatoes…mac ‘n cheese…apple crumble…baked ziti…all edges, all the time.
