Last night at Citibabes, The Dish's Dish stocked hungry Ricki Lake fans with outstanding nibbles. Josie Gordon, with help from our insatiable student, Sarah, prepared an assortment of dishes that proved to be irresistible.
While Ricki spoke about childbirth (the main topic of discussion for the evening), we passed tomato sushi and chicken and apricot falafels. People loved them - we had no extras! Ricki was promoting her new book, Your Best Birth. We'd like to think that would include home-cooking by The Dish's Dish in the days after... Wow! What a great baby shower gift idea...
On the other side of the room, The Dish's Dish had a table of yummies - sweet pea guacamole and crudité with pink peppercorn ranch, carrot ginger and roasted bell pepper dipping sauces. People could not get enough of the sweet pea guacamole. Neither could I!
Last but not least, we passed raspberry, lemon and vanilla mini cupcakes. They were the hit of the evening (ok, maybe besides Ricki). I don't have a good shot of them but you can spy them in the background of this pic of the two belles of the kitchen!
