I blogged about the Bahn Mi at An Choi a few weeks back but when I went in for a quick bite over the weekend, I realized that the Southeast Asian sammies are not all that AC has to offer. Don't miss the cha gio chay - tofu and taro roll. Three come per order but you won't want to share. Crisped to perfection, the waitress instructs diners to wrap the fried rolls in lettuce leaf, offering the perfect balance to the piping hot appetizer. Add on the goi chay - cabbage and tofu salad - to your roster of starters. Accompanied by shrimp crackers, this dish is much more complex and satisfying than the name and menu discription let on. We followed these up with bahn mi - proving they were irresistible. But next time, I am going for a bowl of pho, which nearly half the dining room was enjoying.
